The Kings of Hockey
Wednesday - May 30, 2023 by: Kicking Lettuce
Tonight begins the remarkable run of two low seeded teams in the Stanley Cup facing off. History will be made no matter who wins as no team lower than a #5 seed has ever won the Cup. Of course, the Devils being #5, while the Kings #8.
Enough about the Devils though, I am a Kings fan and we are here to discuss the hottest team in the NHL. In no one's imagination could they have thought of a scenario where the #8 seed is favored to win in the Stanley Cup. Had the #1 Rangers advanced instead of New Jersey, I'm not so sure they would have been favored either. Maybe its my natural inclination to be overly realistic, but the Devils--and Martin Brodeur--have always been a formidable foe. The Kings will not dispense of them as easy.
While 12-2 in the playoffs, 8-0 on the road, I predict the Kings in six.
